 WORKING TOWARDS A BETTER WORLD

Direct Schools are extremely passionate about the environmentally friendly & indigenous products. We are very proud of our wide range of products that preserve the environment as we acknowledge the impact of deforestation and single use plastics. In our own business we are moving towards a workspace that is free of single use plastics!

"Anthony is the Managing Director of NOOD AUSTRALIA. A proud Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna man with family ties to the Narungga and Arrente country. Born and raised in Adelaide and completing year 12 in 2010, he went onto working in various roles over the past eight years. Including playing league football for the Norwood Football Club in the SANFL which then saw him drafted by the Adelaide Football Club at the end of 2014 for the 2015 season. In more recent years, he has worked as a youth mentor with AIME helping to shape the next generation of Aboriginal leaders. Moving away from his 9-5 job and the footballing arena, Anthony has a strong passion for Aboriginal youth, the environment and creating economic growth and self sufficiency within communities. Hence, Anthony has now started his new venture NOOD AUSTRALIA with his business partners and mentors Bronte and Nicole Hough.

Bronte and Nicole are well experienced in the industry and are both established leaders. Current owners of Pak-Rite, they have a strong passion for supporting environmental change and working with communities to build a strong, ethical and sustainable future." - NOOD

"Cultural Choice Office Supplies is the creation of Mark and Jodie Watson. Mark is a Gamilaroi man from Walgett in northern NSW and worked for many years as an Aboriginal Education Worker in local high schools and a local school for disengaged young adults.

Jodie is a business woman, entrepreneur and community advocate who shares Marks passion for a stronger future for Aboriginal children and communities.

Mark and his wife Jodie have 2 sons Connor and Fletcher who, through the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation were granted education scholarships that the family could have only dreamed about. Immensely grateful, the family often reflected on the significance of opportunity on a young persons perception of what might be possible in life.

Inspired by their experience Mark, Jodie and their boys had a vision to link business and corporate capacity with programs that, through education and employment, would create opportunities and inspired futures for other aboriginal children and young people. In turn, Cultural Choice Office Supplies was born.

After becoming members of the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and gaining Supply Nation Certification, Mark and Jodie worked tirelessly for many years to build relationships with global suppliers and community partners to create a purpose driven, state of the art, market leading stationary and office supplies company.

Cultural Choice Office Supplies has since grown to secure contracts with NSW Education and is a preferred supplier of NSW Government Agencies and socially responsible corporate organisations across Australia; all the while supporting indigenous employment and awareness raising initiatives.

More recently Mark and Jodies family was tragically impacted by suicide when their nephew took his own life. It was at this point that the focus and passion to make a difference in the lives of young aboriginal people gained impetus and the Cultural Choice Association (CCA) was established.

As a Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR) charity, the Association is the vehicle by which Cultural Choice Office Supplies will enable its purpose and achieve its dream.

With a strong evidence base in support of the impact of primordial preventions (interventions that reduce the risk factors for suicide) the focus on education, employment and well being remain central to the Cultural Choice commitment to the prevention of Aboriginal Youth suicide and its related causes in Australia." - CULTURALCHOICE

Environment friendly

Here at Direct Schools we recognize the impact of deforestation and single use plastics. We are extremely passionate about preserving and protecting the environment aswell as giving back and supporting the communities in which we operate.

Direct schools internally have moved towards a workplace free of disposable plastics.

How we achieve this is through our 2020 DS Tree-Planting Campaign where we are commitment to planting 2 trees for every tonne of paper sold through the business. We also sell reusable, biodegradable and eco friendly products such as BioPack, Who Gives a Crap, Australian Paper (recycled paper) and much more!

No need to chuck out your toners when we can recycle them for you!

Next time we deliver an order to you, our driver can pick them up for recycling or feel free to drop them off at our store.
